Three Little Blondes

When I was pregnant with Tater (read: the day we found out) I became addicted to a message board centered around babies due in November 2008. Tater’s due date was November 6, but she knew how bad I hate waiting so she made her appearance October 21! Throughout my entire pregnancy I read the message board daily (read: as many times as I could). The women on that board felt more like friends than many people I knew in real life. I could name each mommy’s screen name and their babies father’s name, where they live, what they do, etc. As our pregnancies progressed we planned nurseries together, complained about aches & pains, asked questions, learned whether we were having boys or girls, chose names, shared birth stories, the list goes on and on! Many mommies began having ‘meet ups’ with others that lived near them. I remember being so jealous every time pictures were posted of Nov. 08 babies together! 10 months after our babes were born someone finally put together an Indiana meetup, I was not going to let the fact we live in Tennessee stop me from being there. Luckily the meetup was scheduled for the Indianapolis zoo and we could visit the in-laws too!

Little did I know that trip would be the beginning of some great friendships with Gavin’s Mommy & Alex’s Mommy.

Turns out Gavin actually lives very close to my hometown, which has made getting together a little easier. Alex lives near my in-laws and we’ve been fortunate to see him a couple of times (although NOT enough!).

Last October I invited Gavin and his parents to Tater’s birthday party and we figured out that another Mommy lives in the same area.

I loved having 2 of our November 08 babies at her party, I wish there could have been even more!

Here’s Tater between her ‘Internet Boyfriends” at her party

We have tried and tried to make other playdates work for all three of us but it’s not easy.

Tater and Gavin did have a date night in Nashville when his parents were visiting earlier this year.

But we hadn’t seen Marcus and Gavin together in almost a year, until last weekend. We all met for dinner but completely FAILED to take any pictures there.

After dinner we headed to Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro to play!

Of course getting a picture of all three of them together AND looking at the camera was not happening.

More of the babies (can I still call them that?) playing

I love this series.

Gavin gets a hug…

Marcus moves in for the kill (Tater loves the attention!)…

And both boys give up!

Soon we will have a new addition to our group, this is Marcus’ Mommy and his Christmas present this year, baby Lily!

I bet Lily wondered what her Mommy was doing as she rolled down the hill!

This is Gavin& his Daddy

and his Mommy

I love our little blondes!

Our Nov ’08 message board is not the busy place it used to be. I guess chasing toddlers doesn’t leave us much time to chat.

Thank goodness for facebook so we can all keep up with each other and our babies!
