A post without pictures?

We’ve Moved!

In a little over a week, in fact a week and 2 days, we found a new house and moved. Talk about chaos! I know we weren’t talking about chaos but that’s what it was.

Complete. Chaos.

But we are all in now! Things are still in boxes and strewn throughout the house. Coach and I have had many conversations that have ended with “maybe it’s in the garage?”.

That’s right we have a garage! And a fireplace, perfect for the cool evenings we are having.

Why do I always have to move during the hottest months of the year?

We spent the last 4 years in a much smaller house, after adding a second dog and Tater (and several new hobbies for me) we needed more space! I’m so excited that space came with a big yard, TREES, a garbage disposal (oh the things I’ve missed!) and a BIG BATH TUB. Really it’s the small things in life that make me happy.

My Mom came down to entertain Tater during the move and Dad came to help with the heavy lifting. I’m so grateful they were here to help! Dad’s favorite memory of that day has to be getting the washer and dryer to fit in the laundry closet.

Complete. Chaos.

I will have to take a picture for you to even begin to appreciate that engineering feat! It involved removing baseboards, hoses, doors, oh my. That wasn’t the only problem, to be fully functional (able to open the door to put clothes in) the dryer has to be on the left and crooked. The washer sits on the right, sideways and crooked. BUT they work and that’s all that matters to me!

Coach’s parents came down a few days later to check out the house and help organize. Having a Father-in-law who can handle all things regarding electricity is pretty handy. Thanks to him I now have a dimmer switch and a stove that works! Grandma brought Tater a new toddler bed we found on Craigslist. It’s currently being painted so she hasn’t seen it yet, but she did sleep in her own room last night. Every night for the past 21 months she has slept in a crib in our room. It worked for us and we loved it, but with school starting we need to be able to get ready without waking her up, so it was time.  There were no tears (I really thought Coach would lose it!) and everybody slept all night!

The best part about moving may just be that I have not had time to think about what is happening tomorrow. It’s my first full day back at school. When Tater was 5 months old I went back to school for 6 weeks and then took all last school year off. I feel like this is the first time in 2 years I’ve been part of the working world! Of course I would love to be home with Tater but she is going to a great babysitter, and will probably have more fun there. I do love my school, which helps, being there is like being around family.

That’s the update from here for now. I can’t believe I just did a whole post without pictures. They are coming I promise, as soon as we hide some more boxes!
