Combs Family Fishing Trip – Part 1 – Chicago

This post is way over due! We have been home for 3 weeks and I am just now getting around to the pictures. At first we were enjoying the calmness of not rushing anywhere or having to do anything. But that didn’t last long.

For the past four years we have spent a week in Eagle River, Wisconsin with Coach’s parents (aka The Combs Family Fishing Trip)!

This was Tater’s second trip and she had a ball! Like last year we split the drive into several different days to make it easier on all of us. The first night we spent with Meme & Pops (or Grandpa, which ever name Tater feels like!) near Indianapolis. The next day we woke up early and drove to Chicago.

WE LOVE CHICAGO!

This is our 3rd trip to the city as a family in the last year.

June 2009

This is Tater with her new doll after her first trip to the American Girl store on Michigan Ave., she was this excited in the store also!

October 2009

This was just before she turned 1. We stayed for a few days during Coach’s Fall Break and had the best time!

We walked all over Chicago shopping, enjoying the parks, visiting museums, riding the Metra and of course sampling the local cuisine!

This trip happened a few days before Father’s Day. To celebrate Tater & I took Coach to his first ever baseball game at Wrigley Field.

We rode the train from out hotel on Michigan Ave. to Wrigleyville.

Tater was in heaven (so was Coach)!

I was excited to photograph our trip, after squeezing into our cramped seats I pulled out my camera and my 70-300mm lens, only to discover I forgot my SD card.

Thank goodness for cell phones with cameras!

After the game we did a little shopping and had Giordano’s for dinner, Mmmmmm.

I won’t bore you with more details, just more pictures!!

Tater playing in the lobby of the hotel – it was very ornate!

Future Pianist? That would make Nana happy!

You made it to the end (of the Chicago part)! The rest of our Wisconsin trip up next!
