Sometimes the best days are those that just happen. I woke up about 8:30, which is really early considering 1) it’s summer and 2) I didn’t go to bed until after 2am. For some reason I remembered a picture of a friend on a bike trail near the Cumberland River in Nashville. We loaded up the bikes and headed South. About that same time my friend Shelbye asked if we wanted to meet at Monkey Joe’s to celebrate her son Mason’s 2nd birthday. I will always remember finding out she was pregnant with her second son, it was hours after we found out about Tater. We ran into her by chance in Bowling Green, she was well into her pregnancy and I was just excited with our news. Coach and I had agreed to wait awhile before sharing our news with anyone, even family. Within in minutes of talking to her I spilled the beans! It would still be several weeks before our families knew, but I will never forget that Shelbye was first (closely followed by Harmony)!
If we had tried to plan a day to ride bikes in Nashville AND meet Peyton & Mason it never would have worked out. I’m so glad it did though! We have a rough time making our schedules match, hopefully we get to see them again before Mason turns 3 ๐
